Taking a trip back to what seems like a lifetime ago now, the nineties. When your Rachel Haircut was cool, Tamagotchi were the must have gadget and films like Braveheart, Titanic, Silence Of The Lambs were winning Oscars. This show represents VH1’s list of what they say is voted the greatest songs of the decade.

So we are looking at such diversity as Pearl Jam to Backstreet Boys. Britney Spears to Beck. Also Eminem, U2, Nirvana, R.E.M, Whitney, and Counting Crows. There is bound to be something for anyone who remembers with fondness the decade where Disney was in renaissance. Enjoy

Shakin’ Stevens is back with his first album in five years. “Echoes of Our Times” here we explore the 2012 chart show of Shaky’s career we did. A highly popular show that’s been requested for a repost. Shaky began in the late sixties with the Sunsets, taking almost ten years from recording before a hit came along. Then in 1981, he exploded.

Along the way he has played Elvis in the West End. Sold out across Europe over three decades in concert. Going on to have more Top Of The Pops performances (I count 64 in all) than any other artist. Selling more singles in the UK in the 1980s than any other artist, and more weeks in total for that decade on the singles chart than any other artist. What more can I say? I give you peeps, one more time, Mr Shakin’ Stevens. Enjoy!

Way back in time we go to February 1982. When peeps like Barry Manilow, Sheena Easton And Olivia Newton John was taking up chart positions. Now those days are gone. I suppose we should be thankful for that at least. But Olivia’s “Physical” was a cracker and features in this chart. Expect some Hall & Oates, Kenny Rogers, Stevie Wonder, Quarterflash, Joan Jett + Diana Ross.

I will take a look at the top Pop Albums of the time, playing the entire top 20 singles, along with a few from the bottom of the chart. The fight for number one was on J Giels Band held off all competition but can they do it in this particular week or are Hall + Oates, Quarterflash or Journey going to end their run. Lots of great eighties classics in here. “Leader Of The Band”, “Chariots Of Fire”, “Abacab”, “I Love Rock ‘n’ Roll” and “Centerfold”. Lots more to add to the bargain. Get it now!

Drake is on the rampage in both the Hot 100 + 200. Looking to secure 11 weeks atop with single “One Dance”. Miss Sia might have something to say about that. Albums featured this week are Adele, Epic AF and Rihanna + more. There’s new Britney, Katy and Kiiara to contend with in the Hot 100 Top 40.

The top 20 is played in full, with a fair bit of turnaround in there. But the likes of Rihanna, JT, Adele + Twenty One Pilots are hard to shift from the Top 10. New music featured from Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton + Kenny Chesney featuring P!nk. All new Desiigner after the success of “Panda” around the globe and a few more in there too. All in all a good 2½ hours to while away.
